Cultural Development

(Worimi Buna)

Programs suitable for everyone

Worimi Buna (Cultural Development) programs provide engaging opportunities to strengthen cultural knowledge, awareness and connection through interactive learning experiences. Suitable for organisations, schools, community groups and individuals, these programs are designed to foster understanding while celebrating the living culture of the Worimi people.

Cultural Development experiences focus on exploring Aboriginal heritage through hands-on workshops, guided tours and shared learning. Participants gain insight into Worimi history, traditions and cultural practices while building a deeper appreciation of the ongoing connection between people, land and community.

Programs encourage active participation and meaningful engagement. Through practical activities, cultural discussions and on Country experiences, participants explore traditional knowledge systems, land management practices and the significance of cultural identity. These experiences create space for learning, reflection and respectful dialogue.

Experiences may include:

DUNE RESOURCE TOUR:

The views of Gan Gan connect the first Worimi First Dreaming and explore our land connection through culturally significant and historic locations.

ON COUNTRY RESOURCE TOUR:

Enjoy a guided walk around the parklands. Through traditional land management and care, discover the diversity of our flora and fauna.

WORIMI HISTORY:

Learn about life in Aboriginal society, traditions, customs, strong connection to land, significance of ceremonies, and hunting practices.

WORIMI ARTEFACTS:

Worimi artefacts, such as tools and middens, reveal insights into their traditional lifestyle and cultural practices. These items reflect their connection to the land and sea and showcase their resourcefulness, daily life, and ceremonial activities.

Worimi Buna programs are designed to build understanding, respect and confidence in cultural engagement while creating memorable and enriching experiences for all participants.
